VW Action 2012

Just a few of the photographs I took over the weekend. Let me know what you think! This was before I upgraded to a Nikon D300 so the pictures aren't as super great as I would have liked but I still just love looking through them all! Hope you like them too :)

To view more of my photos here is my flickr account :)

Love and Hugs,

Vintage Cars

Both the OH and I are very into the 'vintage look' as I call it. Throughout our house we have lots of old antiques both collectibles, and, I dare say it... tat. Well that's what my mother calls it anyway!

Alongside small vintage items, a love of the fashion from the mid 20th Century, and an obsession with pin-up style hair and makeup, we both share a certain fondness for vintage cars.

To be specific, old school VW's - both campervans and beetles.

Well, last year he took the plunge and bought himself a super cute 1960 VW Beetle, complete with an awesome roof-rack (we added the suitcases!). And here he is with his pride and joy at last years VW Action:

And here is a bonus picture of me! Wearing the dress I made especially for the weekend! I will write a post dedicated to the dress but I will let you know that it only cost me around £12 to make including the pattern which I will re-use! Bargain. And on the plus side, I got to make it whatever colour I fancied!

We stayed for the whole weekend and it ended up being a laid back, cheap and cheerful affair with lots of amazing cars and people!

Love and Hugs,

Lottie xoxo

Introducing...

I like to think of myself as being quite a thrifty person, I suppose I have been this way ever since I started University (Gosh, coming up to 5 years ago) up to the present where I am trying to stay afloat by having a tiny art business whilst taking whatever temporary work comes up in the area – not much!
I am quite fortunate in that I live with my boyfriend, who earlier this year qualified as a vet, and so we are able to make ends meet.

But that doesn’t mean we have to do without all the fun things in life, just a post Christmas shopping spree for me means spending a whopping £40 of my gifted money on a clothes haul in Primark (or maybe even some sales items from Topshop or River Island if I dare to battle the sales clothes rails in there!

I was, however, thrilled with my Primark purchases – which I will show you once I get up the nerve to post ‘outfit of the day’ posts – mine however, will be less high end, highly fashionable, more charity shops with a bit of high street mixed in. Oh and I do have a highly eclectic fashion sense, rather like my music tastes, so I will warn you now to be prepared, it won’t all be pretty!!

However, I do lust after some (moderately) higher end brands. Most notably, Irregular Choice! I’m very lucky in that my OH is very clever with my presents and he really does indeed know me well, so every time I open a present I am thrilled. This Christmas, however, was even better than my highest expectations because I opened not one, but two, yes TWO irregular choice bags!!!

I do love bags but I almost never buy new ones, generally it’s only when they are literally falling apart at the seams and my mother will drag me to a shop to get a new one, only to find me, a week later, with my old bag firmly on my shoulder.

Out of these two bags, one is already a firm daily favourite and it even accompanies me on my weekly food shopping trips (even if I look like a hobo with the rest of my clothing!). The other bag is a lovely clutch bag which is more of an evening date night bag, and it made its first appearance when we went for a meal to celebrate my OH’s 25th birthday.

I now present the two bags I received: (Pics to come - I promise!)

Much Love,
Lottie (AKA The Curious Deer)
